Cheap Toys

It is so ironic how as new parents we spend money on all kinds of expensive, educational toys and then the toys your child enjoys the most...

...this went on for twenty minutes!

Trip to the Farm

We just returned from the long holiday weekend at Kristoferson Farm. We had some quality family time together and had a great time outdoors taking hikes at sunrise with the dogs and long walks around the lake. Evan loves being outdoors and 'talked' the entire time we hiked. I tried to get Evan interested in the Alpaca but he was completely unimpressed much to my disappointment!

Evan Crawling!

Evan started crawling last night for the first time! I got some video footage of him doing it again this afternoon, he doesn't go far as you can see but it's so cool to see him making the motions!

The Story of Fluffy the Stuffed Dog

My brother and I had this ongoing battle over the rights of a stuffed dog named Fluffy. I asserted that Fluffy was mine and Rich was convinced it was his. For years we would go back and forth stealing it from each other's rooms. The battle continued into adulthood and across state lines! (I had a picture of me opening Fluffy as a gift one year for my birthday when I was around 6 or so but that was not proof enough for Rich!) At one point I found a Fluffy look-alike to fill his void during one of the periods that Rich held him hostage.

One of the last times I spoke to Rich he said that he was willing to give up the 'Battle of Fluffy' and was going to pack him up and mail him to Evan. I knew how attached he was to that little stuffed dog so I was surprised that he was willing to part with it. I never received Fluffy in the mail but he was found in my brother's bed after he had passed away (I think it was too hard for him to part with after all). I was so surprised that he still slept with Fluffy and so touched at how sentimental my brother was. Fluffy has now reached his final home and will forever be a cherished artifact of my childhood and a constant reminder of my brother.
