Who knew Papa was also a talented hair stylist!

My dad always cut our hair when we were little so I asked him to cut Evan's hair for me today. I did a bad job when I cut his hair last. I always got the 'bowl cut' as a kid but Dad really branched out and gave Evan a very stylish 'do! Here we are in action (it took three of us as you can see plus Betsy as the photographer!).


And here is the result! I was quite impressed!

First Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful First Mother's Day today. We had an awesome brunch buffet, took naps, went to the park and had dinner with my Dad and Mona - a perfect day! This is a day I have wanted to celebrate for so very long, I am grateful every day that I get to be called 'mom'. Thank you Aaron for making my day so special!

Happy Birthday

Evan turned 10 months old yesterday. I cannot believe he is going to be one in just two months! Today is my brother's birthday, he would have been 36. I am making his typical birthday dinner favorites tonight - Chicken Parmesan and Angel Food cake. It is such a dichotomy to celebrate all of these 'firsts' of Evan's and then to experience the 'firsts' that occur after you lose a loved one, like their first birthday after their death, or your first Christmas without them. I sure do miss him.
