Fun at the Park with the Boys
My friend, Natalie, introduced me to a great, kid-friendly park in Kirkland today called Turtle Park. It is completely fenced in and is great for younger kids. Evan had a great time playing with the boys. Roman and Alec are cousins and are so adorable together, the last picture is Roman trying to kiss Alec...so cute!

The Joys of Having a Toddler
Evan's personality is really starting to develop. It is so fun to watch. It seemed to coincide with him learning to walk, he has become much more verbal and assertive about what he wants and doesn't want. He says several new words everyday and does everything with gusto (he grunts as he tries to open things/push things/throw things). What has surprised me too is how boyish he is, he loves to get in the dirt, to throw balls and play with cars and trucks. His latest trick is pulling a hat down over his eyes and walking around the room until he bumps into things...you would not believe how much this entertains him!

The flip side to his cute little personality showing is that he is also at the age when he gets frustrated really easily and throws tantrums, bites, hits... That is not so much fun! The video footage below was the end result after I decided to show Evan what it looked like when he threw a tantrum (I got on the floor and kicked my legs). He thought it was hilarious and now I mimic him when he starts to throw a tantrum and it usually can get him to stop.

Blondie Fan (more dancing footage)
I went to visit my Dad last night at the hospital* and Aaron was on duty for the night with Evan. It looks like the boys enjoyed themselves...
*For those that are tracking my Dad's progress, we are hoping that they will be sending him home today. He is still in a lot of pain however, it is going to be a very long road to recovery for him.

Evan in the Pool
New Job!
Aaron started a new job last week! Thank you to all of you who were so supportive after he was laid off (networking, sending his resume out, or just calling and emailing to check in). It was really scary when we heard the news given that we are only on one income now and the economy and job market being what it is but fortunately his skills were in demand. He had two offers by the end of his first week out of work. Pretty great!
The following picture is how Evan and I spent our week (on the couch). Note that I did NOT pose him this way, he did this entirely on his own. He loves lounging like his Dad!
