Seems like only yesterday...

Evan and I had fun today hanging out in the backyard of the Fisher's. I have been sick for the last week and really wanted to get out of the house and they were kind enough to let us crash at their place (Aaron was busy at home working on the deck). It was gorgeous out (70ish and sunny). While they weeded and planted we played in the grass (Evan's newfound love) and in the sand (a first for him). Evan got to play with the big kids which was so cool to observe. Despite the age difference (7 months between Jack and Evan and 14 months between Clara and Evan) he is now starting to really enjoy the same things that they do.

My boy is growing up so fast! It truly seems like yesterday when we 'met' him for the first time on July 5th. He is our world and I cannot imagine life without him now. He is the most amazing little being, so sweet, happy and curious about the world around him. I am so grateful to be his Mom.

Boston

We just returned from a great week in Boston. We spent a lot of time with family which was great. Losing my brother has made everyone realize the importance of family even more so. Amy and the boys came up from Atlanta at the same time we were there and they seemed to really enjoy getting to know their great aunts, uncles and 2nd and 3rd cousins.

We had the chance to do some tourist type of things that I never did when I lived there, like go to Paul Revere's house and the Old North Church. We also went to the Museum of Science which was really cool, even for the adults. We even got to enjoy a day in the 70's (my grandmother and I got sunburned!) and Evan had a great time eating leaves out of my grandmother's yard.

I feel extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful big family!

Evan's First Easter and First Turkey Dinner!

We just returned from a great weekend at the Farm. We planted some more trees along Kristoferson Creek (I am using the royal 'we' here, I personally did not plant because I was entertaining Evan). We had perfect weather on Saturday and Evan had his first chance to play in the grass and had a blast. We also had fun hanging out in the cabin today for Easter Sunday. For the first time Evan was able to enjoy what we all had for dinner as well; we gave him turkey, mashed potatoes, and peas and he loved it!

Weather Report

Gwen and I just returned from a walk with our boys. It started out nice, we had lunch and had a good laugh at the artwork surrounding the park dressed up for Easter (how random...). Then just as we were turning around towards the end of the trail...it started to sprinkle, then pour, and then it HAILED on us. We ran pushing the strollers most of the way back, getting drenched with our knuckles completely numb. It was miserable! Next time I think we'll have to look at the weather report.

Visit with Gram

We had a great visit last week with Aaron's Mom ('Gram' to Evan). She was quite a sport and even planted trees at the Farm two days after she arrived. Evan was able to spend a lot of quality time with her which was nice. It is hard being so far away from family particularly when you have children.

Swinging

Gwen and I took the boys to the park a couple of weeks ago and Evan got to swing for the first time. He LOVED it, he giggled the entire time. All of these 'firsts' are so amazing to witness!

A Tooth!

Evan's first tooth came in yesterday!
