Weekend in Leavenworth

We spent last weekend in Leavenworth with a big group of our friends. We had a great time despite the fact that Evan kept us up almost all night during our first evening there. Fortunately Jack is a sound sleeper so it did not seem to wake him up (we shared a cabin with the Devereuxs - see picture of Gwen reading to Jack below). I obsessively applied sunscreen to Evan and as you can see from the picture of him in the cabin, I went a bit overboard (his skin is and hair are NOT that white)!

Evan seemed to have a blast playing with his friends Carter, Jack, and Clara. I just wish I thought to take some pictures of them playing together! Heidi made some amazing desserts, cinnamon rolls, and dip that I know expanded my waist over the course of the weekend! Some of the adults took a leisurely tubing trip down the Wenatchee River which was gorgeous. The tubing company (Osprey) we used was ridiculously unorganized and we ended up having quite an adventure trying to determine which direction to take on the river and when to get out. We ended up spending a total of about two hours waiting to be picked up with our tubes and then waiting to be picked up from the tubing company to return to our campgrounds. The woman who finally came to meet us at the river was just going to take our tubes and send someone else to get us but we convinced her to take us in her delivery truck. We all jammed ourselves into this truck with nasty smelling lifejackets and sandy tubes (standing room only) and hung on for dear life as she whipped around corners. It was fun nonetheless!
